Job Title: Debt Management – Creditor Liaison
Department: Debt Management Team
Reporting to: Debt Management Team Leader
Hours of Work: 35 hours per week

Main Purpose:

The Creditor Liaison Agent will be responsible for managing daily interactions with creditors, ensuring that queries from both clients and creditors are addressed efficiently and professionally. This role requires a strong understanding of the debt management process, financial regulations, and excellent communication skills. The successful candidate will work closely with creditors to resolve issues, manage data-sharing protocols, and ensure full compliance with industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Creditor Communication: Serve as the primary contact for creditors, handling inquiries related to client accounts, balances, payment arrangements, and disputes.
  • Client Query Resolution: Address creditor and client inquiries regarding account status, payment history, or concerns related to debt management plans.
  • Data Management & Documentation: Ensure accurate and up-to-date information is shared with creditors and that all communications are recorded for transparency and compliance.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to all financial regulations and industry standards, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection laws.
  • Dispute Resolution: Manage and resolve disputes raised by creditors, negotiating where necessary and escalating complex cases as required.
  • Reporting & Updates: Provide regular updates to the management team regarding creditor communications, outstanding issues, and overall progress.
  • Process Improvement: Identify areas for process enhancement and recommend strategies to strengthen creditor relationships.

Key Skills & Experience Required:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role within debt management or financial services, ideally within a regulated environment.
  • Strong knowledge of the debt management process, consumer credit regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain professional relationships with creditors, clients, and internal teams.
  • High attention to detail, strong time management, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle queries efficiently and professionally.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and other relevant industry software.
